PASTOR’S REPORT

Dear Saint (s),

Isn’t this an exciting time we are living in?  We have international students from all over the world being trained. We are renovating a future 600-800 seat auditorium that will be top notch. We will teach and train parents. We will teach and train drug addicts and alcoholics about the way of the Lord. We will teach youth and young people about how to be successful in life and in their walks with Jesus. We will take all 7 Mountains and you get to be a part of the very foundation of all of this. Yes, you! God said from the time you were born, “I have brought you into the world for such a time as this. You have not been brought in to simply live and breathe, but to bring my very presence and godly principles into the darkest of all places and allow them to see a great light. You will proclaim it in the business office. You will proclaim it shopping at the store. You will proclaim it in the schools. You will proclaim it in Hollywood. You will proclaim it in cures for cancer. Yes, you and your children shall allow others to see Jesus just in your kindness and love. Yes, you have been born for the greatest time the world has ever seen. For such a Time as This you have been born. Rejoice!”…….and again I say “Rejoice”.

Why don’t you do something crazy today – put down this paper and just shout to the Lord! Remember, it’s His house anyways!

Let’s remember the advice given to us by Bro. Bernard Evans – past President of Elim Fellowship. Who owns the house? Who owns the area? Who owns the church? Not us! It all belongs to the King of Kings and the Lord of Lords. Isn’t that comforting? We can walk in unity and great heart and the joining of Spirit and Truth. It’s all His! We simply have to walk in agreement with him and put aside our own agendas. As we discussed on Sunday and Lance Wallnau brought out in our Wednesday night teaching times – God is looking for a warrior without selfish ambition. We are those warriors. As One! God is building up a mighty army and you know what? We can easily evaluate whether we are part of the “new” company that takes the Promised Land or part of the old generation that died there. Is their unbelief in your heart? Do you find yourselves murmuring and complaining? Do you have a Caleb attitude and heart? Are we like Joshua that rises up and says, “We are well able to take it”! We can evaluate it and know. Which side are you on? Think about it…..

Well, with all that said…….we need you to sacrificially give finances to the Building Project. Do what God tells you to do – but remember to ask Him!

Love you all,

Pastor Kirk

33 LIVE REPORT

As most of you know, especially those with children, the return of the school year also brings routine back into everyone’s lives. The consistency of school schedules, practice schedules, pick-up schedules and even organization of family life gives us a strong platform to work from with regard to church life. And as home groups recommence with much excitement and fervor, so does 33 Live. And what a start we’ve had!

We’ve introduced a new Sunday night workshop specifically to train up leaders for the youth ministry. And I must say I couldn’t be more proud of this team. With around 25 dedicated workers coming faithfully, we have introduced the concept of small-groups into our regular Wednesday evening worship and preaching times. The result has been a better connection with individual students on a more personal basis and has served to give them a voice in the meetings. We’ve had new visitors each Wednesday night and our numbers are starting off consistently around 70 strong. As we settle into more of routine we’ll also begin assigning leaders certain responsibilities pertaining to their specific interests from audio and video production to street ministry to campus ministry. And all the while we recognize that we are preparing for an invasion of Watertown in a greater effort to reach the county.

We’ve been covering a bit of systematic theology beginning with the influence of relationships and the three persons of the God head: Father, Son & Spirit. Most recently, our 33 Live meeting this past Wednesday was very powerful. After showing our weekly Video Field Question (where our production team videos peoples’ responses to a question asked on the street), we discussed the person of Jesus Christ in both small group and a time of preaching. As the altars filled with teens, Jennifer began to sing over the audience. What followed was a heavily anointed, extended time in the presence of the Lord lasting past midnight! It was amazing to watch as teens lay prostrate, faces to the floor, aligning their hearts once again with Jesus and weeping for the lost. We are in a move of the Lord!

Our new two-year ministry training program, DIBOR, is also off to an exciting start. Our students from abroad as well as those locally have finished the first four day conference this past weekend. And I must commend them, as well as our church staff, for their patience in the awkward interim period where both NLCC and DIBOR occupy the same dwelling. Thanks again to all those who have so generously donated their time, money and furniture to help these students settle in.

We have a number of exciting events planned for October and November so please keep watching the website for dates. And keep after your children to see if they got the "hand-outs for their parents" during youth group!  Thank you for all your prayers and support as we help shape young people into strong disciples of Jesus.

KIDS Church

Hey KIDS!  I am so excited about the next few weeks at KIDS church!  We will be splitting KIDS church into two different age groups 3-6 year olds and 7-10 year olds.  The story time will be with all the kids together.  Then, we will split into the groups for discussion, craft, and game time.  The first two months we will be learning about the Fruits of the Spirit.  I am really excited to see how all of you do with just the kids your own age.  I know that this will challenge and stretch all of you, but also meet you where you are at!

Also, I want to congratulate all of you for the money that you have been raising for the new church building!  You have hit the $300 mark! I am so very proud of you all!  Keep up the good work!  Make sure that you are looking for little extra chores to do, so that you can earn money for the project!

I love you all, and I am so very proud of each and every one of you! ~ Miss Leah

OPERATION CHRISTMAS CHILD submitted by Karleen Bognaski

October is the last month for collecting individual items for Operation Christmas Child.  Now is your chance to give if you haven’t had a chance.  What child doesn’t love a flashlight in the dark and a bag full of candy.  This month we will be collecting candy and flashlights with batteries.  Some candy ideas might be lollipops, tootsie roll pops. mints, gum, Smarties, and hard candies.  Please no candy that can melt.

We want this year to be the biggest and best yet for Operation Christmas Child, and to surpass all previous years.  We can still use any items that would fit into a shoebox.  It can be socks, mittens, toys, toothbrushes, combs, musical instruments, school supplies, calculators, sunglasses, watches…anything you can think of.  Be creative.  It cannot be done without you.  Just remember those smiling faces of the children who are thrilled with a shoe box full of small items and how thankful they are for it,  This is not just to give a Christmas gift to those who are needy, but to give the ultimate gift…the opportunity to hear about Jesus Christ and God’s love for us.  Thank you for your prayers and your donations.
