It’s Time To Take A Break

In Hebrews chapter 4 it tells that there still remains a rest for the people of God.  Just as God created the world and all therein in six days and rested on the seventh; so it must be with us.  There is a rest for our soul, our mind, and our spirit.  There is the peace of God, that passes all understanding; that passes all the confusion and the turmoil this life has to put on us at times.  God’s word tells us that when we enter into the rest he has for us that it shows we have chosen to stop fighting in our own power, mind and strength.  His word also warns us that unless we enter into the rest of God; that we are in danger of entering into disbelief because our efforts without his rest is the road to unbelief.  So what is his rest?  Good question, but the answer is different for each individual.  His rest for me is to just stop at any given moment when I feel overwhelmed and fall on my knees and just begin to praise him and cry out to him.  His rest for me is meditating on his word and the promises of who I am in his eyes.  His rest for me is that he truly see’s all and he knows my end even before my beginning.  His rest for me is trusting in God when I don’t see it.  Hoping in God when I don’t feel him.  And walking with God when giving up is so much easier.  In the name of Jesus Christ our Lord, I pray the peace and rest of God over you, even now.  Remember God worked six days and then stopped the work of his hands and rested on the seventh day.  This is your seventh day.  It’s time to take a break; in God.  Now close your eyes; close your mind and rest my child.

Thanks for listening, Pastor David
