Making The Same Mistake Twice
Most of us have been there more times than we want to admit. Those times when we know that we should be relying on God as in the past; but we choose to do it on our own. Or worse than that we trust in counsel of men to work out only what the Spirit of God can do. To say that we make the same mistake twice would be a great understatement for most of us. Especially when it comes to listening to life’s lessons over the giver of life. KingAsa of Judah took silver and gold out of the house of God and paid the king of Syria to help him against the king of Israel who was attacking them. The plan worked but how many of us know that just because the plan worked in the physical doesn’t mean that the spiritual is settled. God sent a man to give a word to KingAsa. God asked; were not the armies of Ethiopia and Lubim huge with very many men, chariots and horsemen? Yet because you relied on me then; I delivered them into your hands. Now because you have relied on the fleshly hand of the king of Syria there will never cease to be war in your kingdom. Still he refused to seek God or change his ways. Even after his feet was affected with a terrible diseaseAsa would not rely on God but rather trusted in his physicians to his death. Perhaps today you have made the same mistake twice or more. A man once said he is a fool that keeps doing the same thing over and over again and still thinks the outcome will be different. God has been your strength, substance, peace, delivery, healer, protector, and salvation in the past. He still goes throughout the whole earth showing himself strong on behalf of those who will seek him and trust him. Let us smell again the sweet fragrance of our Lord entering our situations in life and simply taking over that we must let go of. It stops now. The madness. The sorrow. The stress. The disappointments. Don’t make the same mistake twice today. Rely on he; that makes no mistakes. For he still sees the end even before the beginning.
Thanks for listening, Pastor David
