What We Believe
The Bible
The Bible is the inspired and the only infallible Word of God. It is our guide for faith and daily living ( II Peter 1:21, II Timothy 3:15-17, 2 Peter 3:15-16, 1 Thessalonians 2:13).
God
In one eternal God who is the Creator of all things. He exists in three Persons: God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit (II Corinthians 13:14, Deuteronomy 6:4, Psalm 90:2, Matthew 28:19, I Peter 1:2).
Mankind
Man was created in the image of God, but sinned and fell through disobedience, and that the entire human race shares in man’s lost and depraved nature. (Genesis 1:26-27, 2:17, 3:6, Psalm 8:3-6, Isaiah 53:6a, 59:1-2, Ephesians 2:1-3, Romans 5:12-19, Romans 3:23)
Jesus Christ
That Jesus Christ is fully God and fully man, was born of a virgin, lived a sinless life, died and rose again bodily, ascended into heaven and now sits at the right hand of the Father (I Timothy 3:16, Matthew 1:23, Colossians 1:19, Galatians 4:4, Matthew 1:25, Hebrews 7:26, II Corinthians 5:21, Matthew 28:6, Acts 2:33 ).
Salvation
That atonement for sin was made by the sacrificial and substitutionary death of Jesus Christ, it is only through repentance of sin and faith in Jesus’ redeeming blood that we are saved (Hebrews 9:22, John 1:12-13, 3:16, 10:10, Romans 5:8, 10:9, Ephesians 1:4-5, 2:4-9, I John. 1:9).
Redemption
The victorious redemptive work of Christ on the cross provides freedom from the power of the enemy * sin, lies, sickness and torment. (Isaiah 53:4, 5, Matthew 8:17, I Peter 2:24).
Transformation
That every Christian should live for Christ and not for himself. By obedience to the Word of God and daily yielding to the Holy Spirit, every believer should mature and be conformed to the image of Jesus (Mark 12:29-31, Acts 17:2, Romans 12:2, 1 Corinthians 8 & 9, 10:23-11:1)
Holy Spirit
The Holy Spirit is the Promise of the Father, the Comforter who indwells and places every believer in the Body of Christ, bestows spiritual gifts upon the Church and convicts the world of sin and the judgment to come (John 14:16-17, 1 Corinthians 2:12, 3:16, 2 Corinthians 3:17, Galatians 5:25, Ephesians 1:13-14).
The baptism of the Holy Spirit is for all believers as a definite endowment of power for service and is subsequent to, and separate from, conversion (Luke 24:49, Acts 1:4-8, Acts 2:38, Acts 10:44-46, Acts 11:14-16, Acts 19:1-6, I Corinthians 14:1-6).
2nd Coming
Christ will literally return to the earth in power and great glory (Acts 1:11, I Corinthians 15:51-52, I Thessalonians 4:16-17, II Thessalonians 2:1, Titus 2:13, Revelation 20:4).
Resurrection
In the resurrection of the saved and the lost: The saved shall enter into eternal life and the lost into eternal punishment (John 5:28-29, Revelation 20:15)
Baptism and Communion
The ordinances of the church, by the command of Christ, are Water Baptism by immersion and the Lord’s Supper, both of which are administered to those who are born again (Matthew 28:19, Acts 8:36-37, Romans 6:4, I Corinthians 11:23-31, Matthew 26:26-30).
