Outreach
FOOD PANTRY
Ernest Ross (Coordinator)
The Food Pantry is housed in the Shepherd Industries building. Ernie has done a wonderful job of helping those in need. Last year the pantry gave out approximately 68,000 meals to 809 families. The pantry also distributed clothes, gifts, and toys to 70 local children. Many of these children would not have had anything for Christmas. Through the help of many, we were able to deliver 61 boxes (turkey & trimmings!) for families in need.
If you would like to be involved contact Ernie at 315.686.0227.
Visitation Ministry
Pastor Tom Allen (Coordinator)
It is Pastor Tom Allen’s joy to be able to visit people at their homes who are ill or those that simply cannot get out. He would love the chance to visit with anyone who might have a need or just wants prayer for a situation. Maybe you or someone you know are in the hospital, then give Pastor Tom a call so he can set up a time to come visit you. He is also available here at the church throughout the week if that works out better for your schedule. Pastor Tom is here to serve you in anyway he can; don’t hesitate to contact him.
You can contact Pastor Tom by writing down your need in the attendance books that our passed during our Sunday morning services or you can find him after service at the Hospitality Table in the foyer. If you are not present during our Sunday services then you can contact him here at the church at 315.788.0825 or on his cell phone at 315.955.0022.
Mark 9:35 – Sitting down, Jesus called the twelve and said, “If anyone wants to be first, he must be the very last, and the servant of all.”
PRISON MINISTRY
David & Nancy Gardner (Coordinators)
The Gardners count it a blessing and joy to minister to those incarcerated at the Cape Vincent Correctional Facility. They offer a 10-week Marriage and Parenting class, which includes videos from James Dobson, an Assembly of God ‘Dads’ coaching clinic video program, and the movie ’A Vow to Cherish’ . They are also certified to present Chuck Colson’s “Prison Fellowship” programs. These programs deal with all aspects of life; from giving up the lifestyle that got the men in prison to preparing them for when they are released. God is doing marvelous things inside the prison!
If the Lord is encouraging you to become involved contact the Gardners at 315.686.0086.
OPERATION CHRISTMAS CHILD
Patricia Jennings (Coordinator)
Mid November you will see shoe boxes appear in the sanctuary, filled with all kinds of items for children. Operation Christmas Child is under way. Last year we were able to send over 1,000 boxes to children around the world. Every month in the NLCC News there is a section called “Collection Corner” including information and items that we will be collecting for that month. This is a great opportunity to share the love of Christ to those less fortunate!
